Principal Account Engineer

Responsible for working with both HSB and Munich Re Underwriters to support profitable underwriting, by delivering timely and targeted account evaluations in high risk occupancies. The Principal Specialist will apply advanced technical knowledge and experience to provide detailed risk evaluations of an account by interpreting factors such as design, condition, operations, maintenance, and human elements. The Principal Specialist will determine how to improve / manage the risk through account engineering, loss control initiatives and consultative risk control engineering services.

Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering guidelines on multiple high risk occupanices. Provides training and leadership to other members of the High Risk Group, loss control engineering, and underwriting.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and / or equivalent work experience is required
• 15+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, inspection, insurance engineering, and / or repairs of process equipment associated with high value / risk occupancies such as power generation, primary metals, mining, pulp & paper, sugar, or glass
• 5+ years experience leading / managing personnel and / or major equipment repair / installation projects as part of the experience noted above is preferred
