Sr Copywriter

Sr Copywriter  Job Description  The Senior Copywriter will conceptualize, develop, and refine original content that communicates in a memorable and compelling way for various audiences.

Primary duties include content strategy, content creation, and copywriting for all types of media.

While writing is the main focus of this role, editing and proofreading are vital to improve the substance and quality of deliverables.   Supervisory Responsibilities  The Senior Copywriter position does not supervise other employees.  Duties & Responsibilities  Write for a variety of media, including print, digital, out of home, video, radio, social.  Conduct background research as necessary to inform content development.  Translate client brand, positioning, and key messages into messaging and communication concepts that meet strategic goals.  Participate in internal project briefings.  Attend client meetings and briefings as needed.  Present messaging concepts and rationale to clients as needed.  Collaborate with the creative director, the creative team, and project managers to produce creative briefs and copy / content aligned with creative specifications.   Edit and proofread content, checking work for accuracy in grammar, usage, and syntax.  Support Creative or Copywriting team as needed or assigned.   Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities  Demonstrable and versatile writing skills to produce content that translates client offerings or objectives into compelling benefits.  Able to write copy that persuades, influences, and motivates audiences.   Organization and time-management skills to effectively multitask on numerous assignments simultaneously, often with tight deadlines.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficient understanding of proofing, grammar and usage.

AP Style knowledge required.  Experience presenting concepts and campaigns to clients.  Research and data analysis skills.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.  Knowledge of the Adobe suite of applications a plus.  Education & Experience  Relevant experience demonstrated in your portfolio of work samples.  Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, Creative Writing, Communication, or related field a plus.  SEO experience / knowledge of SEO best practices.   Experience writing social copy.  Ad agency or related work experience preferred.  5+ years of related work experience preferred.  MarCom Group utilizes our own internal Talent Acquisition Organization to fill our employment needs.
