Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 trauma and neuro experience, BLS certification, and a valid WA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center within a large teaching hospitalEvening shift, 3x12 hours per week, variable start time 10 : 45 to 23 : 15Handles 60-70 cases in a 25-bed OR unitPrimary service lines include ortho, spine, and neuro; no cardiac or transplant casesUses Pyxis medication system and Epic EMR (experience required)No floating required outside of unitNo on-call dutiesWeekend shifts required; Sunday night is not considered a weekend shiftScrubs provided by the facilityTravelers must be flexible with scheduling and are highly preferred to work Christmas shiftsNo block scheduling accommodated; flexibility is expected for shifts and holidaysTravelers may not request time off during orientation weekHoliday time off is limited; 1 major holiday off and up to 3 additional non-holiday days allowed (certain blackout dates apply)Orientation includes modules (5-6 hours pre-start) and in-person Epic training during onboardingFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyLocal candidates are accepted at the same rateParking is limited and paid, with both onsite and offsite options availableRequirements
Current WA or compact RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)Must have completed WA 6-hour suicide prevention training if using compact licenseBLS certification requiredMinimum 2 years recent OR experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center with neuro casesCirculating skills requiredEpic EMR experience requiredCOVID vaccination and booster requiredFirst-time travelers acceptedPrior staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 monthsTwo professional references required, at least one supervisory preferredPass / fail EKG exam required with a minimum score of 80%Benefits
