The role reports to the Head of SWE and is responsible for managing 5+ Firmware engineers while also performing hands-on technical work and coding as required.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Head of Software, software engineering team, and product teams.
• Firmware Development Lifecycle Management : Oversee the firmware development process, including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a team of Firmware Engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Project Management : Ensure timely delivery of firmware projects with a focus on quality and performance.
• Hands-on technical work : Build firmware that can scale with the business growth of Kohler Ventures.
• Collaboration and Communication : Facilitate effective communication between the firmware engineering team and other departments, translating complex firmware concepts into actionable business strategies.
• Quality Assurance : Implement rigorous testing protocols to ensure firmware reliability and performance.

The base salary range for this position is $154,000 - $231,000. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on experience, education, and work location. This position is subject to Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) that ranges from 16% of base salary for the NYC metro area. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $178,640 - $267,960 depending on location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401k.
