About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12.5 hours (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM)

Experience : Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience

License : Illinois state RN License in good standing

Certifications : BLS (American Heart Association)

Must-Have : Trauma 1 experience; EPIC experience

Description :

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver.

The RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame.

Care is provided via the utilization of the nursing process, trends, technology, and resources.

Essential functions include performing all responsibilities and duties required by the unit.

The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.

Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.

Completes initial assessment upon patient admission.

Develops an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards.

This plan is based on patient and family needs.

Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.

Modifies the plan based on continuous evaluation.

Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety.

Reports and / or corrects safety hazards and incidents.

Communicates directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.

Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers.

Confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base.

Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions.

Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.

Department-specific job functions include assessing IV sites every four hours.

Starts new IVs per policy.

Must maintain documentation standards as evidenced by passed quarterly chart audits.

Attendance at staff meetings is required.

Identifies changes in patient status and responds appropriately.
