Certified Home Health Aid (Part Time)

Morris Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is actively seeking Home Health Aides to serve as Patient Escorts as well as assist Nursing staff with non-clinical resident care overflow for our Skilled Nursing Facility in the Bronx, NY.  Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience as a Home Health Aide, exhibit a warm & compassionate demeanor and conduct themselves in a courteous manner at all times while responding to patient’s needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Escort residents safely to and from appointments

Observe and monitor residents

Reporting any health issues to the supervising nurse

Maintain confidentiality of all Resident & Facility data

Assist with collection and distribution of resident laundry

Assist family members in completing Patient Personal Property List Forms; delivering packages, such as gifts, flowers, clothing, to resident room or notifying housekeeping

Assist residents with daily feeding / meals

Coordinate and assist with resident room changes including logging and packing of personal belongings

Assist with additional non clinical resident care duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS :

Valid New York State HHA Certification (available upon request)

Candidates must be physically able to maneuver a wheelchair

Periods of standing for prolonged periods of time

Ability to stoop or kneel

Occasional heavy lifting may be required

Ability to follow the Plan of Care precisely

Must be able to work as a team member

Flexible availability is required, including working weekends and holidays

Valid photo ID required

Must have had a physical within the last 12 months

Proof of PPD and immunizations with the last 12 months

Pass background check
