Job Description Summary / TWC Summary :

JOB SUMMARY :

Under direction of the Academic Dean for Academic Affairs, the Clinic and Experiential Learning Managing Attorney at TMSL will be responsible for overseeing and expanding the law school’s experiential learning programs, including externships and any clinical programs that the dean assigns.

Essential Duties Summary :

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Lead, develop, and assess all experiential learning programs including clinics and externships.
  • Design and implement new experiential learning opportunities in emerging areas of law and practice.
  • Ensure compliance with ABA Standard 304 dealing with experiential learning courses, as it relates to Standard 303.
  • Handle all matters pe1taining to Experiential Learning at the Law School, including being responsible for any Law School Clinic duties that the Dean may assign.
  • Oversee quality assurance of placement sites and continuous improvement in our experiential programs.
  • Coordinate logistics and policies related to placement sites, evaluations of sites and site partnership agreements.
  • Collect and analyze data on students’ participation at sites, review learning outcomes, and site pa1tner feedback on students to ensure students are actually learning what was intended.
  • Advise and assist students with all registration information and placement in various courses and sites.
  • Promote student awareness of available experiential learning opportunities through workshops, presentations, and individual counselling.
  • Teach the family law clinic, including the 2-hour lecture component and any other clinics that the Dean may assign.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the courts, law firms, government agencies, nonprofits, and other partners.
  • Any other duties that the dean may assign.

Hiring Range :

$98,509.22-$128,061.99

Education : Required :

Juris Doctorate

Required Licensing / Certification :

None required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Knowledge of :

  • Federal, State, Local and County laws.
  • Policies, departmental procedures, and practices.

  • Work Experience : Required :

    Five (5) years of related experience.

    Preferred :

    Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.

    Working / Environmental Conditions :

  • Limited standing and / or walking.
  • Handling light weight objects.
  • Using or carrying equipment.
  • Stoop, bend, or lift.
