Job summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and people-focused Public Sector Procurement Specialist to support our business development efforts in the public sector, throughout Georgia. This role is suited for individuals with a strong understanding of government procurement, who are relationship-driven and capable of strategically expanding Maxair's footprint through pre-qualified procurement resources like OMNIA Partners, GSA Schedule and negotiated agreements.
Rather than pursuing traditional bid opportunities, the emphasis is on leveraging existing strategic, non-competitive procurement resources through cooperative purchasing mechanisms and negotiated work, wherever possible
Requirements :
Lead Identification & Outreach
- Identify and qualify prospects using Sales Enablement Software
- Research and monitor procurement portals (local, state, federal) for HVAC, plumbing, and control systems opportunities
- Initiate outreach to procurement officials, facilities managers, and agency stakeholders
- Track and manage sales path activity at entity level utilizing Salesforce CRM
- Represent Maxair Mechanical at industry and government networking events, including pre-bid and supplier engagement meetings
Proposal Development
Prepare compliant and persuasive submissions (e.g., RFQs, RFPs, ITBs) that address HVAC, plumbing, and building controls scopesCollaborate with estimating, operations, and executive teams to develop pricing, technical scopes, and timelinesEnsure full adherence to public sector regulatory, financial, and legal requirementsContract Management Support
Track submissions and maintain records of all open, pending, and awarded opportunitiesSupport onboarding, documentation, and compliance for new contract awardsMonitor key contract milestones, including renewals and reporting obligationsRelationship Management
Develop ethical and trust-based relationships with procurement officers and decision-makers in public agencies.Educate internal Maxair teams on public procurement expectations and procedures.Serve as a professional, mission-driven representative of Maxair in all stakeholder engagementsKnowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Required :
3+ years’ experience in public procurement, business development, or sales—preferably in HVAC, plumbing, controls, or a related construction fieldKnowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and / or Georgia Procurement Manual and the application to procurement processes including cooperative procurement, contract management, ethics and compliance
