Overview

Join HomeTown Credit Union as a Full-Time Training Specialist and ignite your passion for training and mentoring in a dynamic, employee- and member-focused environment. This role offers the opportunity to shape and enhance the professional development of our team at all four Southern Minnesota locations, primarily based out of the Owatonna facility. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

The Training Specialist designs, coordinates, and implements diverse training initiatives for Compliance, Credit, Management, Member Experience, and Operations staff. The Training Specialist may conduct engaging training sessions directly or collaborate with subject matter experts to create and deliver impactful content. By cultivating the professional growth of employees, this role ensures that training programs align with the credit union\'s strategic priorities, ultimately improving overall effectiveness and performance.

To thrive as a Training Specialist, candidates should have strong design and development abilities to create engaging training materials, effective facilitation skills to lead sessions, proficiency with training software and tools, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff and subject matter experts. A member-centric mindset and problem-solving focus will further enhance training initiatives and support the credit union\'s success. Knowledge and skills required for the position include :

  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Teaching or training experience or a history of creating training material
  • Proven leadership skills : ability to evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses and utilize coaching and counseling
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of banking and / or credit union regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing a wide variety of tasks
  • Professional and effective communication skills, including listening, writing and presentation
  • Ability to work independently utilizing analytical and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and use of effective time management
