Senior Engineer – Vehicle Dynamics Simulation
Location : Newark, CA (Onsite)
Work Schedule : Monday–Friday, 40 hrs / week (potential overtime)
Role Overview
As a Senior Engineer – Vehicle Dynamics Simulation , you will be responsible for guiding the development of ride, handling, steering, and braking attributes from concept through production. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, system owners, and test engineers, to create high-fidelity simulations, analyze data, and deliver vehicles with exceptional driving performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and use vehicle and system models to support vehicle design and development.
- Provide objective data guidance on vehicle dynamics and durability performance based on simulation outputs.
- Conduct analysis of real-world test data and correlate it with simulation models for validation.
- Guide vehicle development by evaluating dynamics performance through Driver-In-the-Loop (DIL) simulators.
- Collaborate across teams to optimize steering, braking, suspension, and ride-handling attributes.
- Present simulation results and recommendations to stakeholders through reports and technical presentations.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of automotive engineering experience with a solid understanding of vehicle dynamics principles .3+ years of hands-on experience using ADAMS, CarRealTime, CarMaker, CarSim , or similar simulation tools.Proficiency with Matlab / Simulink fundamentals .Bachelor’s or Master’s degree ( BS / BEng or MS / MEng ) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of relevant automotive or motorsport experience.Experience with simulation and analysis tools such as Dymola , MatLab , Python , or C++ .Familiarity with Driver-In-the-Loop (DIL) simulation tools.Knowledge of vehicle assembly plant processes and engineering best practices.Experience with SAE standards and automotive development lifecycles.Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical and business priorities.
