Job Overview
We are seeking an Advanced Database Administrator to support database planning, operations, and optimization across multiple platforms including DB2 for z / OS, SQL Server, and Oracle. This role requires a highly experienced professional with deep expertise in mainframe database administration, performance tuning, and infrastructure management to ensure data architectures meet departmental standards and security requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform daily database administration activities for DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS platforms.
Plan, design, implement, and support database structures and schemas.
Conduct performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization of database systems.
Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation.
Perform SQL code reviews and quality assurance activities.
Assist with disaster recovery planning and technical infrastructure implementation.
Mentor and train technical staff on database best practices.
Conduct verification testing for infrastructure change management.
Required Experience
15 years of combined database administration experience across DB2 for z / OS, SQL Server (2008R2, 2012), and Oracle 10g and above.
Advanced expertise in DB2 for z / OS application integration, performance management, and administration.
Advanced knowledge of DB2 upgrades, catalog maintenance, and point-in-time recovery.
In-depth knowledge of z / OS integrated platform, JCL, CA GEN model management, ISPF, and ASG Scheduler.
Strong understanding of COBOL, CICS, RACF, and z / OS monitoring tools.
Solid working knowledge of Oracle and MSSQL application integration and database administration.
Experience with disaster recovery technical requirements and verification testing.
Working knowledge of Windows Servers, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, and Azure.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with state agency integrated database infrastructure.
Knowledge of financial management applications and integrated application environments.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
