Must-Have : Required certifications; minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 prior travel assignment; SANE RN experience preferred; working in a teaching hospital preferred

Description :

This role requires a registered nurse in the Emergency Room with a focus on trauma care.

The department cares for a wide variety of patients, from newborns to the elderly, with diverse complaints.

Nurses will manage critically ill patients and those in cardiac arrest.

A specialized trauma team handles Level 1 / 2 trauma patients in dedicated bays.

Candidates must be proficient in vasopressor drips and titration, as well as managing cardiac and antihypertensive medications.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 3-5, depending on acuity.

There are 2 charge nurses per shift who primarily manage department needs but may assist with critical situations.

The facility is equipped with all necessary respiratory equipment, and nurses may be required to troubleshoot alongside respiratory therapists.

Registered Nurses are expected to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage patient monitoring.

Lab draws are performed by both nurses and designated lab staff.

Typical scheduling involves 12-hour shifts, with rotations that can accommodate time-off requests.

Weekend work is required every other weekend, and holiday shifts are scheduled based on departmental needs.

Travelers may occasionally float to other units, but this is a rare occurrence.

Scrub attire should be tasteful, with solid-colored shirts.
