Stewart is a long-standing, reputable clinic that serves North Jefferson, West Blount and South Cullman. We have an in-house pharmacy and the latest technology in diagnostic aids including ultrasound, endoscopy, hematology, blood chemistry machines, and a digital x-ray. Our 4 doctor team provides services to large and small animals including pocket pets and exotics. We are committed to providing the best possible medical, surgical and dental care to our pets.

Surrounded by natural beauty, state and national parks, universities, local food and less than 25 minutes from Birmingham, Warrior, Alabama is an ideal location for any enthusiastic teammate interested in a cozy town with access to city life too!

Kennel Assistant Responsibilities

The Kennel Assistant is responsible for providing a clean, efficient and healthy environment for the animals being treated or boarded at the hospital. A day in the life of a Kennel Assistant includes :

• Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital, including kennel area, runs, treatment area, and outside grounds.
• Feeding hospitalized animals and boarders.
• Monitoring and recording important information about the animals conditions, behavior and habits (elimination, eating, etc.).
• Walking animals three times a day.
• Notifying the Doctor or a Veterinary Technician / Assistant of unusual medical or behavioral problems.
• Cleaning treatment, exam, surgery and lab areas daily.
• Maintaining laundry throughout the day and keeping the laundry area neat.
• Assisting the Doctor and Veterinary Assistant with restraint and treatment of animals.
• Monitoring and maintaining the kennel inventory to include food, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, etc.
• Performing other duties as assigned that assist the Doctor, Receptionist and Veterinarian Technicians / Assistants in the smooth flow and operation of the clinic, care of clients and service to the clients.
