The Catering and Events Manager is responsible for orchestrating exceptional events, securing both new and repeat bookings, and optimizing revenue opportunities. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, managing event coordination from inception to completion, and overseeing inquiries and contract negotiations. Additionally, the manager leads the banquet team, ensuring seamless service, while fostering and nurturing strong relationships with clients and vendors alike to uphold the highest standards of hospitality.
Responsibilities :
- Negotiate with guests and patrons for banquets, meetings, and other events, overseeing all arrangements including menu selection, bar setup, and room configuration in accordance with company policies and procedures. Upon finalizing negotiations, communicate the detailed arrangements in writing to relevant departments and vendors to ensure the successful execution of the function.
- Manage and execute all aspects of event planning, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring every detail meets the highest standards.
- Drive sales by prospecting and securing new business, as well as nurturing relationships with repeat clients. Maximize revenue opportunities through upselling and cross-selling event services and offerings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trusted vendors (florists, entertainment, linen, decorators, etc.) and the local community to ensure timely and successful event execution while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being the main point of contact for clients throughout the planning process and ensuring all their event needs and expectations are met.
- Oversee and direct banquet and catering staff during events, ensuring seamless operations and top-notch service.
- Identify trends in the catering and events market, analyzing competition and client feedback to inform targeted sales strategies and enhance offerings.
- Draft and negotiate contracts, ensuring clarity on event details, pricing, and expectations.
- Ensure smooth coordination of all event logistics, including event setup, catering service, and breakdown, while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Gather feedback from clients to assess event success and maintain long-term relationships for future business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to track and analyze sales performance, market trends, and business metrics on a monthly basis, using data to adjust strategies and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all catering guidelines provided by the company with regards to menu specifications, pricing, discounting and any other policies.
- Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of bookings, ensuring all transactions comply with accounting and billing standards, and align with audit controls and receivable practices.
- Conduct semi-annual competitive assessment of banquet menu price positioning within the market and adjust accordingly.
- Develop and manage effective event schedules, ensuring availability for all guest site tours, and maintaining clear communication with the restaurant management team to ensure smooth event execution.

Qualifications :
Proven experience in catering, event management, and sales, preferably within a restaurant hotel or event space setting.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.Strong vendor negotiation and relationship-building abilities.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple events simultaneously.Knowledge of catering and event industry trends.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.Education & Experience :
Must be 21 years or olderBachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business or related field is preferred2-4 years of experience of successful events sales experience in restaurant, hotel, or similar industryMinimum of 3 years of catering or events experience preferredFor Your Wellness :
