Job Title : Kafka Developer

Location : 100% Remote (EST hours)

Introduction

We are seeking a Kafka Developer to join our team during an exciting period of growth. As the organization undergoes a large acquisition, this role is pivotal in ensuring smooth data integration across systems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on developer with experience in building scalable, cloud-native data streaming solutions and integrating SaaS and on-prem applications using Confluent Kafka.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Scala for data streaming development.
  • Experience developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in building Kafka connectors and pub / sub architectures.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. - Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment (EST hours).

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Confluent Cloud (fully managed Kafka).
  • Background in integrating SaaS applications with on-premises systems.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures. - Experience collaborating with vendor support (e.g., Confluent support ticketing).

    • Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Confluent Kafka.
  • Develop connectors and data streaming integrations for SaaS and on-prem systems.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate deployments.
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and security of data streaming infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integration projects during acquisition. - Provide light support by coordinating with Confluent support as needed.
