Estimator

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Estimator to join a leading heavy civil and industrial general contractor with a strong presence across the Mountain West. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects ranging from highways and bridges to mining and rail. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for building safe and sustainable communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of work
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and engineering documents
  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and verify site conditions
  • Review construction methods and equipment utilization
  • Assist in developing bid documents and construction schedules
  • Compute production-based costs and support proposal development
  • Attend pre-bid site visits and investigations
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth project transitions
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in highway / heavy civil construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS or similar), earthwork programs (Agtek), Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Primavera scheduling software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Valid driver's license required
