Editorial Content Specialist - Placement Overview
The contractor will assist in the editing and production of Navy Federal’s online financial education content. The contractor’s primary responsibility will be editing and optimizing online content, creating and circulating proofs of online content for approval, and managing and incorporating feedback from stakeholders. The contractor will maintain Navy Federal’s brand standards for usability, relevance, and member engagement; collaborate with Marketing staff and other internal business units and external vendors; and support high-level Marketing strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
Author and edit web content using the CMS Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Create proofs of web content as PDFs and share with stakeholders for feedback using Adobe Workfront.
Rewrite content to incorporate feedback from marketing strategists, internal business partners, compliance, proofreaders, and other stakeholders.
Ensure stakeholders meet deadlines for approval.
Track and implement revisions across multiple versions of an article.
Research and analyze the competitive search environment around relevant topics and optimize content for keywords, context, user experience, and SEO best practices.
Maintain an approachable, informative, and empowering tone in our content, aimed at educating all site visitors (not just members).
Other duties
Represent the Web & Content Strategy team at meetings with business units and other Marketing teams.
Partner in the creation, maintenance, and execution of the content production calendar.
Conduct content audits across channels to support business needs and identify gaps and optimization opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Ability to influence and build consensus with business partners.
Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
Experience managing multiple priorities independently and / or in a team environment to achieve goals.
Experience in content delivery, management, retrieval systems and production for high-traffic websites.
Experience translating complex concepts into easy-to-understand interactive experiences and deliverables.
Experience working in a demanding, fast-paced, creative environment (e.g., advertising agency, publication).
Knowledge of interactive usability, information architecture, and SEO strategy as applied to content.
Maintain knowledge of digital and online technologies, best practices, trends, editing and authoring tools.
Ability to navigate multiple screens and PC applications and adapt to new technologies.
Recommended : Experience with web analytics software (e.g., Google or Adobe Analytics).
Recommended : Experience with various content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager preferred).
Recommended : Knowledge of the financial services environment and Navy Federal’s functions, policies, procedures, products, and services.
