ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 6,700 TK-College students across 30 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. We believe that talent is equally distributed across Silicon Valley, but opportunity is not, so we are committed to ensuring that socio-economically disadvantaged students have equitable access to the opportunities that will help them thrive in school and beyond. Students benefit from high-quality academic programs, captivating enrichment activities, and access to critical mental health services. With support from our staff, Board, and broader Team BGCP community, we strive to make our community a great place for all kids to grow up.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Future Grads Program is a college success program that equips first-generation students with the skills they need to overcome obstacles on their way to college graduation. While our program includes counseling on how to apply, complete financial aid forms and choose the right college, we also develop our students' social and emotional skills, including how to ask for help, access resources, build support networks and maintain confidence. Future Grads supports its students to and through college graduation.
The College Success Manager will primarily serve students at partner high schools in South San Mateo County (East Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Redwood City). Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as this role may occasionally require travel to other school sites or clubhouses throughout San Mateo County.
This College Success Manager will focus on 10th-grade students in the Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD), taking the lead on early engagement with Future Grads. They will be responsible for introducing the program to sophomores and leading the recruitment and branding strategy for this cohort. This role is critical in preparing students for postsecondary success, helping them build foundational life skills, and developing a strong Future Grads identity.
