Residential Loan Closer

Under the general supervision of the AVP Residential Lending, responsible for the coordination and preparation of all retail loan closings, coordinating member contact as it pertains to the closing of the loan.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manages and monitors assigned pipeline for loan closings within all regulatory compliance requirements, rate lock expiration dates and purchase and sale closing dates.
• Attends regularly scheduled pipeline meetings to discuss status of loans and actions to be taken.
• Works both independently and as a team with Mortgage Loan Officers, Loan Analysts, Underwriter, branch management, Loan Servicing, attorneys and management to ensure a smooth closing process.
• Ensures all compliance requirements are met on every file.
• Schedules loan closing with attorneys and / or branch teams.
• Ensures proper maintenance of Encompass throughout the closing process, including reviewing borrower's names, subject property address, and updating fees as applicable.
• Works with closing attorney to obtain all fees related to the loan closing to accurately complete the Closing Disclosure, ensuring compliance with TRID by delivering to the borrower(s) at least 7 days prior to closing.
• Completes Verification of Employment on borrower(s) with a maximum of 7 days prior to closing.
• Prepares and reviews closing documents utilizing checklist(s), Title, MLC, and Encompass for accuracy and compliance.
• Assists to cure all post-closing errors and omissions on both investor and portfolio loans.
• Maintains understanding of parameters and requirements of all loan products offered.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees and members.
• Contributes to the effective team management of all Credit Union problems, issues, and opportunities.
• Reviews Closing Disclosure for accuracy to complete Final Loan Review process including but not limited to refreshing credit, ALTA, Seller CD 1003 & 1008.
• Performs additional duties as required.
