ModCorr offers rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed off-site in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction. ModCorr’s safe, secure, and high-quality units comply with all American Correctional Association (ACA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
The DEC Install Technician is responsible for the installation, adjustment, and maintenance of all types of detention-related equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install and maintain frames, doors, hardware, locks, sliders, furniture, and door closers
- Install wire mesh, security ceilings, and wall panels
- Plan, install, service, and test mechanical and electronic locking systems
- Make emergency repairs to detention and security locking systems
- Layout detention equipment for proper locations from construction documents and shop drawings
- Troubleshoot hardware and Mechanical problems associated with Detention Hardware
- All other related duties as assigned or required by Detention Hardware Foreman / Superintendent
- Open, repair, and change the combination of all types of locking devices and make keys for same
- Repair and maintain all types of doors, door closers, exit devices, panic hardware, and related hardware
- Communicate regularly and effectively as appropriate
- Maintain company standards, culture, and values
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Required
3 years of related experience preferredWelding experience preferredCompetent with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipmentPhysically fit for manual labor, lifting of 40+ poundsAbility to work on secure, active jobsitesCommunicate regularly and effectively as appropriatePhysical Demands :
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or moving of 40 pounds and over, with frequent lifting and / or carrying odd, shaped objects weighing up to 65 pounds, and up to 40 pounds of force constantly to move objectsAbility to climb and work at heights over five feetAbility to lift weights while performing workAbility to walk around the facility and plant area to perform daily workMust be alert and coordinated while performing weldingThe ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Work Location :
In person. Houston, TX – Albright Dr. Warehouse / Some travel may be required and / or available.Work Environment :
