Position Overview :

  • The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for leading the day-to-day work activities for our material handlers and running our annual physical inventory.  This position works closely with plant management to ensure availability of daily stock and inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the day-to-day work activities for our material handlers.
  • Organize and run our annual physical inventory.
  • Collaborate with order entry, engineering and assembly on any job order bill of material changes.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to show inventory health and performance.
  • Perform cycle counts, review on-hand inventory, current activity, and past activity.
  • Ensure materials are in proper locations.
  • Conduct searches in order to locate misclassified inventory.
  • Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items and / or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand.
  • Weigh and mark product displaying remaining product left.
  • Report discrepancies of over / under amounts and any damaged products to supervision-publish weekly.
  • Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them.) Follows established Lean Manufacturing and 6-S procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum two years’ warehouse experience.
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail with ability to produce accurate results.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, required.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection.
  • May occasionally lift and / or move up to 10-50 pound.
  • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures.  Company Benefits :
