Physical Therapist Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs selected patient treatments under the general supervision of the Supervising and / or Staff Physical Therapist, Director, or his or her designee, and has the responsibility for the overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of supportive staff, volunteers, and students utilized in the department / facility.

Records and Reports :
Prepares and submits department / facility reports, assuring confidentiality of all records :
Completes Discharge reports / summaries in conjunction with supervising Physical Therapist.
Assists supervising Physical Therapists in the completion of Progress Notes and communication with referring physicians and agencies.
Daily notes completed in a timely fashion while supporting medical necessity
Special reports as requested by the Director and or Manager
Professional Status and Public Relations :
Maintains current professional knowledge of techniques and trends
Attends continuing education, meetings, or special courses whenever possible and shares gained information with the department / facility personnel.
Prepares and presents educational presentations to community groups as requested.
Maintains positive public relations with all community sources.

Willingly provides coverage, volunteers assistance, and maintains workflows within department as needed without direct instruction / supervision.
Works cooperatively and refrains from participating in negative conversations.

Is considerate of others in the work environment with regard to taking breaks or meal periods, use of computer and phone, noise level in the department, etc.

Policies and Procedures
Knows and complies with policies and procedures as enumerated in the Orthopedic One Employee Handbook and policies and procedures documents.
Provides assistance and support to leadership in implementing policies and procedures as necessary.
Actively participates in training, and conducting day to day work activity by adhering to all policies and procedures as enumerated in compliance and risk management programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Certification and Licensure Requirements :
Must be a graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program with a preferred minimum of two (2) years orthopedic department / facility experience, however new graduates with orthopedic clinical experience are encourage to apply. Must have, or be eligible for, State Licensure or Registration. Registration must be obtained within one (1) year, or as per state law. Must maintain and provide verification card for CPR certification including BLS / AED training.
