Job Description
Associate Attorney Opportunity to Specialize in High-Billable Rate Litigation
Well-regarded, supportive, Life / Work balanced and competitive-paying mid-sized Seattle law firm has opportunities for litigation associates to specialize in lucrative (high-billable rate) litigation practice areas.
Those litigation practice areas include an opportunity to specialize in any of the following 3 separate areas :
1. Environmental litigation handling a variety of matters including CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act (CAA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and the Endangered Species Act litigation. There will also be opportunities to work on land use, permitting and compliance / regulatory work. The firm is interested in interviewing associates who have 1-3 years of general litigation experience even if they do not have any environmental litigation experience.
2. High-End Complex Construction litigation. Attorneys at this firm also do lower rate tort “construction defect litigation” but their construction department primarily handles the more complex construction litigation which includes construction disputes (sometimes between contractors and subcontractors) and construction disputes involving lien and bond claims as well as claims associated with schedule delays and scope of work changes on large construction projects. The firm is interested in interviewing associates who have 2-4 years of civil litigation experience even if they do not have complex construction litigation experience, so long as they are committed to specialize in high-end construction litigation.
3. Plaintiff’s national class action litigation. The firm has handled some of the most interesting and important consumer protection cases in the nation, including privacy cases, and cases to protect employee retirement funds. The firm is interested in interviewing complex commercial litigation and tort litigation candidates with 5+ years of experience even if they do not have plaintiff’s class action experience, so long as they have strong academic credentials.
All candidates should already be Members of the Washington Bar. Exceptions might be made for those who can waive-in to the Washington Bar on an expedited basis.
The firm is not interested in candidates who have excessive job movement in a relatively short period of time without a plausible explanation for all the job moves or candidates who only have criminal litigation experience.
Please direct all confidential inquiries to Gordon Kamisar, Esq. at my email address found at my website which is www.seattlesearch DOT com, or (425) 392-1969.
Due to the volume of applicants I can only respond to candidates who meet the requirements set forth above.
