GiaCare Inc., in anticipation of a future government contract award, is currently accepting applications for experienced, civilian Medical

Records Clerk to work alongside the federal government in support of the Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, Colorado).

Requirements

Degree / Education :   High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.

Certifications :   Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Board Certification :    N / A

Licensure :   Current, full, active, and Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator.

Experience :

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator

Duties

  • Initiates and maintains medical records in accordance with prescribed directives.
  • Files military forms documenting patient care into the official medical record.
  • Searches for missing paperwork or records; requests information pertaining to patient treatment to place in the medical record.
  • Prepares reports regarding record statistics as necessary. Participates in records review as part of the facility’s quality assurance program and in accordance with accreditation standards.
  • Retires medical records in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
