Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter / Estimator to join our Estimating Department. This position plays a critical role in supporting project bidding and design development by preparing accurate takeoffs, analyzing bid documents, and assisting with cost estimating. The ideal candidate combines technical drafting skills with strong analytical ability and thrives in a fast-paced, construction-oriented environment.

Responsibilities :

• Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform detailed material takeoffs and quantity estimates using AutoCAD, PDF markups, and other digital tools.
• Develop bills of material and labor operations for pricing and production.
• Prepare exhibits, sketches, and takeoff summaries that clearly communicate assumptions and inclusions.
• Identify design gaps, missing elements, or scope overlaps between disciplines.
• Maintain organized digital records of drawings, takeoffs, and bid packages.
• Collaborate with other estimators and engineers to ensure project accuracy and consistency.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to calculate, compare, and summarize quantities and costs.
• Prospect and assist with new business opportunities in alignment with sales and estimating goals.
• Support project coordination through preliminary drawings and conceptual layouts as needed.
