POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates an excellent knowledge of the operation, procedures, patient safety and maintenance of the MRI equipment and related systems. Ensures that all required safety precautions & screening are strictly enforced for the protection of customers and personnel. Demonstrates an excellent knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and magnetic resonance physics as applied to MRI procedures and operation of the department. In the absence of the senior technologist and / or MRI technologist III, coordinates departmental operation with all the MRI staff and the Chief Radiologist. Supports University Healths policies, values, and guest relations.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists ARRT (R) (MRI) and License by the Texas Department of Health (CMRT) is required. Three years of radiology experience and two years of MRI experience in a hospital setting is required. Must meet competencies required for the position. Must have current BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association is required.
