City of New York is hiring : CADD Designer in Secaucus

Hours : Full-time – 35 Hours

Work Location : 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101

Only candidates who are permanent in the Assistant Civil Engineer title, reachable on the Open-Competitive (Exam #1101), or who filed for the Open-Competitive Exam #5015 may apply. The Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is seeking a CADD Designer for our Construction Management Unit – Construction Support - AS-BUILTS Team.

Under the guidance of an Engineer-in-Charge, the successful candidate will prepare as-built and working drawings, utilizing specifications and final estimates for roadway, sewer, and water main projects. Responsibilities may include participating in field surveys, engineering investigations, studies, attending meetings, and preparing calculations and reports.

Minimum Qualifications :

A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering technology from an accredited college or university and three years of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university and a master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.

Authorization to work in the United States is required. The NYC Department of Design and Construction does not sponsor visas, extensions, or status changes, including STEM / OPT visas. Applicants must meet all requirements at the time of application.

Additional Information :

Preferred skills include : excellent communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, infrastructure construction knowledge, familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, AASHTO standards, and proficiency in Primavera P6 and ENV SP (preferred).

Valid driver’s license is required; personal vehicle preferred.
