Category Manager - Military
Reporting to the Sr. Category Manager, the Category Manager - Military will lead data-driven initiatives that uncover growth opportunities and improve performance across multiple retail partners, with a focus on the Military channel. This role will be critical in transforming syndicated and customer-specific data into meaningful insights that influence sales strategy, promotional planning, and retail execution. The Category Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams in sales, category management, and marketing, delivering insights that move the business forward.
Location : This is a fully remote role and may be based in Dallas, Texas.
Key Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate the ability to synthesize & leverage multiple data points / insights (shopper, consumer, category, product) to create retail strategies on Assortment, Merchandising and Shelving that unlock growth.
- Analyze syndicated and customer data (Nielsen, Circana, retailer systems) to identify opportunities within key retail and Military channels.
- Partner with category managers and Military account teams to build data-backed recommendations and business reviews.
- Create dashboards and data visualizations (Power BI, Tableau) to track KPIs and identify trends
- Monitor Competitive Launches and their impact on business.
- Build reporting for Space to sales analysis across customers.
- Work on updating POS data reporting on monthly and quarterly basis.
- Prep, cleanse, and integrate multiple data sources for a complete analysis.
- Develop reports and tools that improve the use of data across the organization.
- Stay current on Military channel dynamics, trends, and compliance requirements.
- Manage ad-hoc analytics projects and support reporting automation to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of analytical experience in consumer goods, retail, or other relevant industry experienceMinimum of 1 year of retailer / customer facing experienceAbility to quickly learn new systems / processesExceptional organization, prioritization, & project management skillsSelf-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent critical thinking skills, initiative, attention to detail and creativityExcellent communication and presentation skills; ability to partner across remote teamsDemonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directedGeneral curiosity and willingness to adopt / learn new approaches to analyzing dataStrong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.Expert level Excel with experience using tools such as VLOOKUP, Index Match, Advanced conditional formatting, Pivot Tables / charts and reporting, Macros and VBA, and Data simulations.Proficiency in data visualization and dashboard creation (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)Skilled in building reporting in POS data Circana (IRI) or Nielsen, Retail Link, Madrid and demonstrated success in delivering productivity.Willingness to travel 10 -15%Ability to work remoteA valid driver's licensePreferred :
