Principal Systems Engineer (Round Lake)

Youll be part of a team dedicated to improving manufacturing performance and reliability. Working closely with production, quality, and operational excellence functions, your role will be to optimize automation, support digital transformation, and ensure that our production systems meet both engineering and quality expectations. This is more than maintenance its about engineering change and building futureresilient processes.

What Youll Be Doing

• Identify and correct inefficiencies, control issues, and equipment obsolescence
• Develop improvement strategies aligned with site goals and priorities
• Diagnose and fix performance problems in automated equipment at machine or system level
• Map production workflows, identify critical control points, and define operational tolerances
• Review design of new or modified equipment to ensure it matches intended automation and quality needs
• Support plantwide digital technologies and smart initiatives
• Use Lean, Six Sigma, statistical tools to analyze data and remove bottlenecks
• Define inputs, outputs, materials, and acceptable variance at each stage of production
