Work Hours : 40 hours / week | Monday to Friday | 7 : 30 AM – 4 : 00 PM
Position Overview -
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Director to lead nursing operations and patient flow initiatives at a major healthcare facility in Akron, Ohio. This leadership role will support hospital-wide throughput, productivity, and staffing logistics, working closely with the Regional Call Center, Float Pool, and Administrative Supervisors.
This position also provides oversight for the Companion Float Pool and Clinical Decision Unit and plays a vital role in fostering service excellence and continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities -
- Collaborate with the Regional Call Center and Float Pool operations to optimize patient flow.
- Manage nursing productivity, staffing, acuity levels, and off-shift supervision.
- Directly oversee the nursing staffing office, including scheduling, reporting, and payroll operations.
- Serve as administrative lead for the Companion Float Pool and Clinical Decision Unit.
- Lead interdisciplinary teams focused on performance improvement and operational efficiency.
- Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff across multiple units.
- Utilize hospital strategic plans and service excellence models to guide decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications & Education -
BSN and MSN (or Master’s in Healthcare Administration or Business) requiredMust be a graduate of a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing programCurrent RN license in the State of OhioCertification preferred or must be obtained within 2 yearsExperience -
Minimum 5 years of nursing experienceAt least 2 years of recent hospital leadership, supervision, or throughput / logistics coordinationProven leadership in a high-acuity, complex healthcare environmentSkills & Competencies -
Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skillsAbility to manage staffing, scheduling, productivity tools, and nursing software systemsStrategic thinker with a passion for operational efficiency and quality patient careComfortable with data analysis, performance metrics, and cross-departmental collaboration
