Description :

Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following :

This position is located in a commonly impacted area for hurricanes.

The hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, but storms can occur outside of that window.

Upon accepting an assignment and starting in this role, the unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team."

There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the storm passes or be part of the relief team.

Specific details regarding compensation for storm impacts will be provided.

By signing your travel contract, you accept the above conditions and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if a storm occurs.

You should not apply if you are not comfortable with these conditions.

We are looking for experienced nurses who can jump right in.

The acuity of our patients is very high, and the unit can be busy.

Experience with the following procedures is required : TPN, wound care, drainage, foley catheter insertion, and narcotic administration.

Patient ratios are expected to be 1 : 5 / 6.

Unit will accept first-time travelers.

One year of experience is required, and LTAC experience is not necessary.

Block scheduling may be considered.

The unit provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

The patient population includes adults and geriatrics.

Additional procedures include care for patients on ventilators.

Daily census is approximately 28 patients with a capacity of 35 beds.

This position requires adherence to specified safety protocols related to COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.

Travelers must have completed requirements for consideration before submission.

Resources who worked as permanent staff must be separated from employment for one full year before returning.
