Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Experienced Dental Assistant to join our growing team. You will support our dentists in delivering outstanding care, help educate patients, and ensure each visit is smooth and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort and addressing concerns.
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, and cosmetic treatments.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following OSHA and infection control protocols.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized treatment area and operatory.
- Take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos.
- Record detailed patient notes, charting, and treatment plans accurately in Dentrix (or applicable dental software).
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Assist with patient scheduling, treatment coordination, and case presentation when needed.
- Support the front desk with occasional tasks including checking patients in / out and insurance verification.
- Follow up with patients to ensure satisfaction and recovery after procedures.
- Stay updated on best practices, technologies, and continuing education requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as a dental assistant in a general or multi-specialty dental office.Current California RDA or DA license (RDA preferred).X-ray certification (Required).CPR / BLS certification (Required).Knowledge of Dentrix or other dental practice management software is highly preferred.Strong understanding of OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control regulations.Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.Skills and Attributes
