Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works Division is seeking an Associate or Experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer with an emphasis in fluid thermal system design for advanced aircraft development programs located in Hazelwood, MO. BDS Proprietary programs develop complex, highly integrated, advanced systems, enabling future growth for Boeing and our Department of Defense (DoD) Customers. Position Responsibilities

  • Support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design
  • Support the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs / proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups
  • Perform and document analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Contribute to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goal
  • Support system components' designs / proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation
  • Training others
  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and / or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Level 2 : 2+ years of working experience with a Bachelor's OR a Masters degree OR a PhD
  • Level 3 : 5+ years of work-related engineering experience with a Bachelor's or 3+ years of work-related engineering experience with a Master's or work-related engineering experience with a PhD
  • Experience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g. NX, Catia, CADD)
  • Typical Education / Experience

    Level 2 : Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Level 3 : Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Summary pay range Level 2 : $76,500- $103,500

    Summary Pay Range Level 3 : $95,200 - $128,800

    Security Clearance

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
