Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Onsite

Location : Franklin, WI

Department : Manufacturing / Engineering

Reports To : Engineering Director

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize manufacturing processes in our heat transfer production environment, specializing in condensers, Bar & Plate, and cooling units. This onsite role is pivotal in driving efficiency, quality, and safety through innovative process design and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will collaborate across engineering, quality, and operations teams to support new product introductions and resolve production challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing methods, tooling, and equipment for heat transfer products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product launches and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and train production staff on best practices and new technologies.
  • Utilize Plex ERP system to manage production workflows and data.
  • Operate and oversee warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, order pickers) as needed for process validation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in heat transfer or HVAC-related environments.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with Plex ERP and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Occasional travel to suppliers or other facilities may be required.
  • PPE and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory in production areas.
  • Exposure to heat transfer manufacturing equipment and materials is expected.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Visual acuity for inspecting components and reading technical documents.
  • Exposure to heat, noise, and manufacturing-related environmental conditions.
  • Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection as required.
