About the Role :
We're seeking a technically strong, hands-on Data Security Consultant to lead a strategic initiative focused on data protection and observability across our enterprise platform . This role will drive the implementation of zero-trust security controls, collaborating closely with the Information Security team and cross-functional technology stakeholders. You'll design, deploy, and manage cutting-edge observability and governance frameworks that safeguard critical datasets and elevate operational transparency.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Observability Platform
- Lead architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of Data Observability platform
- Partner with DevOps and Information Security teams to uphold highest information security standards
- Hands-on configuration & deployment of data observability platform
- Architect observability frameworks to monitor data lineage, quality, and access in real time
- Implement tools and dashboards for tracking data movement, transformations, and anomalies
- Enable proactive alerting and incident response for data-related security events
Data Security & Governance
Conduct risk assessments and identify gaps in governance and data protectionDesign and implement security controls on AWS, including IAM, GuardDuty, Macie, and WAFCoordinate across platform leads to ensure comprehensive data protectionLead data classification and tagging efforts using enterprise tools like Atlan and BigIDFacilitate security reviews for new initiatives and promote best practices for secure data operationsAlign security strategy with business and technical objectives across engineering and governance teamsRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field8+ years of experience in data security architecture, with a strong focus on observability and monitoringHands-on experience with SIEM platforms, such as Splunk, IBM QRadar, Elastic Security, Microsoft Sentinel, or ArcSightBuilding and tuning security detection rules, dashboards, and threat correlation workflowsIntegrating SIEM with cloud environments, data platforms, and observability stacksDeep familiarity with data catalog and tagging tools (e.g., Atlan, BigID)Experience deploying and managing observability tools like Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or equivalentStrong proficiency in AWS security services, including : IAM, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Macie, Security Lake, WAFProven ability to secure containerized and microservice architectures (Kubernetes, Docker)Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance and security standards including NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAACertifications strongly preferred - CISSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CCSPThe salary range provided for this contract role represents our good faith estimate for this position. Within the range, individual offers will vary based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, location and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process (W2 or C2C).
