Description

A Software Engineer Intern learns the practical application of engineering principals, achieves expertise in a specific functional area, and investigates new techniques as part of a team. The Software Engineer Intern is typically an individual who desires to grow their skills and competencies by working on a product / subsystem release. The Software Engineer Intern learns through practical functional experience and from more experienced engineers / mentors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, processing and performing all projects in an efficient manner with assistance from the supervisor.
  • Develop code to achieve defined design goals.
  • Write test appliances to fully test production code.
  • Apply engineering processes to everyday activities.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to gain knowledge of applications and development processes.
  • Exposure to the business planning process and terminology.
  • Comply with Solarity's policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree that aligns with Software Engineering.
  • Hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including all Microsoft products.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of software design patterns and architecture.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to learn and apply new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • Ability to organize time and projects efficiently.
