Saw Filer

Description :

Weyerhaeuser Idabel Lumber has an opening for an experienced Saw Filer with a clear commitment to safety, strong leadership values and outstanding core values.

This position works with our saw filing team performing saw filing activities for our state-of the-art lumber manufacturing facility in Idabel, OK. The successful candidate must have expertise in safely filing and maintaining band saws and circle saws; machine alignment; maintaining saw filing equipment; and preventive maintenance procedures, including the ability to inspect equipment for signs of wear / damage and recognize unsafe conditions.

Key Functions :

• Participate in safety meetings and activities as determined by team and mill norms and standards.
• Benching and fitting bandsaws.
• Sharpening, tipping and benching round saws.
• Honing and maintaining knives.
• Pour babbit, maintenance of guides and maintaining guide plane.
• Complete PMs for sawmill and sawshop machinery as required.
• Participate in reliability task teams or activities as required.
• Help coach apprentices / operators to learn sawfiling trade and help with PMs.

Personal tools will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.
