Role : Staff Software Engineer

Location : Remote (U.S. or Canada)

Company Stage of Funding : Series A

Office Type : Fully Remote

Salary : $250,000 – $350,000 base + equity

What You Will Do

Design, build, and own large-scale backend systems powering mission-critical messaging workflows.
Develop robust, high-performance APIs and distributed systems handling billions of requests per month.
Partner closely with product and leadership to shape architecture, tooling, and technical direction.
Ship quickly and iterate fast while maintaining exceptional reliability and scalability standards.
Work across modern cloud infrastructure (AWS) and data-intensive architectures to drive measurable impact.

Ideal Candidate Background

4+ years of backend software engineering experience, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment.

Deep expertise with Node.js and TypeScript , with strong system design and scalability instincts.

Solid understanding of AWS services (e.g., SQS, EC2, S3, DynamoDB).

Experience building distributed systems and event-driven architectures at scale.

Strong sense of ownership, product intuition, and eagerness to work in a lean, high-velocity environment.

Preferred

Familiarity with React.js or other modern front-end frameworks.

Exposure to AI or data intelligence systems (e.g., ChatGPT, LLM integrations).

Experience contributing to early-stage product development or 0→1 systems.

Background at top-tier tech companies or well-funded startups.
