Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week Med / Surg night shift assignment in an acute care setting with Level 2 trauma experience and Epic EMR proficiency required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the Med / Surg unit of an acute care hospital
  • Shift schedule is 12-hour nights
  • Unit is located on the 2nd floor with 24 beds and an average daily census of 14 patients
  • Patient population includes oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych / detox, ENT, and general medical cases
  • Team care model with specific nurse to patient ratios
  • Care provided in a Level 2 trauma center environment
  • EpicCare Inpatient EMR is used and experience with Epic is required
  • Must pass an open book, pass / fail exam on orientation Friday covering learned skills, with a minimum score of 90% required
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
  • Holiday coverage may be required according to department policy
  • Blocked scheduling approval is restricted to weekends only upon request
  • Duo candidates requesting the same schedule or to share a car will not be considered

  • Active NE or compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience required
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
  • Must submit a copy of a valid driver's license to confirm permanent address
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license
  • Candidates may not be currently or recently (within the last year) employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
  • Two professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
