A respected organization is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician with HVAC experience to oversee and support all food service facility maintenance operations. This role is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining cafeteria equipment and work areas, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of commercial refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, and preventive maintenance, along with the ability to lead and coordinate maintenance activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
- Supervise and manage cafeteria facility and equipment maintenance operations across multiple food service areas.
- Inspect, assess, repair, and maintain cafeteria equipment, tools, and workspaces, including new and renovated areas.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment, promoting proper use of equipment for food service personnel.
- Perform and delegate repair tasks as needed, overseeing minor repairs completed by support staff.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical data to support repair and maintenance work.
- Implement preventive maintenance plans and determine when replacements or outside vendor services are needed.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and architects for specialized services and equipment installations.
- Respond to emergency repair situations quickly, effectively, and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, tools, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
High school diploma or GED required.Valid Texas driver's license.Valid Texas refrigeration contractor license required.EPA certification for commercial refrigerant applications.Preferred certifications in electricity, plumbing, and welding.Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to manage a maintenance team.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to use Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, graphs, and inventory programs.Ability to prioritize tasks, respond to emergencies, and resolve issues in a timely manner.Knowledge of commercial kitchen layouts, equipment, and tools.Experience with commercial refrigerant applications and electrical installations (480V, 230V, 115V circuits).Skilled in plumbing, drain installations, faucet and valve repairs, adjustment of gas pressure regulators, and welding.Must be eligible for employment in the United States.Applicants may be subject to a background check.Applicants may be subject to an MVR Check.A pre-employment drug screening and physical exam may be required as a condition of employment.A conviction does not automatically disqualify you from employment.
