Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Quality Assurance Leader job for our direct client, a growing manufacturer of specialty chemicals used in the food flavors and fragrance industry located in Middletown, NY. This is a leadership role with a clear growth path to Quality Assurance Manager following training in industry-specific practices. Comprehensive training and professional development will be provided to ensure success in this highly regulated and quality-driven environment.

Quality Assurance Leader Job Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in overseeing the SQF Practitioner and management of the Food Safety System
• Support the development and maintenance of the Food Safety Plan in compliance with food safety regulations and customer requirements
• Assist with the delegation of program ownership and lead the development of food safety fundamentals (pre-requisite programs)
• Ensure integrity and effectiveness of the SQF Food Safety Management System through corrective actions and continuous improvement
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SQF standards, FSMA regulations, and industry compliance requirements
• Oversee documentation control, version tracking, and audit readiness
• Participate as an active member of the HACCP and Crisis Management Teams
• Coordinate employee training programs on food safety, GMPs, and regulatory compliance
• Conduct internal audits, manage third-party inspections, and ensure compliance across all departments
• Validate programs, verify completion of FSQ documents, and maintain document control registers
• Lead manager meetings, record minutes, and ensure follow-up on quality initiatives
• Support continuous improvement in all aspects of quality assurance and food safety management
