Responsibilities
- Write and proofread for print (e.g., Ytori magazine, newsletters, invitations, posters, news articles, brochures, letters, fact sheets); submit to editor for final review.
- Plan and execute content projects : identify subjects, interview faculty / staff / students / alumni, research / background, and tailor voice / tone to the medium.
- Write and proofread for digital (news site, unit webpages, dean’s updates, email communications); submit to editor for final review.
- Support special communications projects as assigned by the editor.
- Contribute basic photography / videography as needed.
The salary is $45,000 - $50,000.

Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree and two years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s in English, Journalism, or related field and a Master’s degree; 2+ years in a communications role; adherence to professional journalistic standards.Mastery of AP Style with experience in substantive editing, copyediting, and proofreading.Proven ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, manage priorities, and communicate progress.Exceptional writing : translate complex topics into clear, lively, accessible prose; familiarity with strategic messaging; growth mindset and sense of humor.Web fluency : accessibility and basic SEO for the web; social media proficiency; experience with Google Analytics.Tools : Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Acrobat); email marketing platforms (Emma, Mailchimp, HubSpot).Visuals & data : data visualization, photography, and videography experience.Collaboration & setting : organized self-starter who can work independently and on teams; comfortable interacting with university faculty about their research.How to Apply
