Overview :
We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Data Product Manager (Data Product Owner) with a strong blend of business acumen, data / product management expertise, and a passion for the fan engagement, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and sports industry . This role will serve as the key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating analytics and data needs into actionable tasks and ensuring seamless delivery. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic vision and hands-on experience in managing end-to-end data product lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the data product vision and roadmap , aligning with business goals and stakeholder priorities across clubs, partners, and internal teams.
- Act as the primary liaison between business and technical stakeholders to capture, refine, and translate data and analytics requirements into actionable deliverables.
- Leverage deep understanding of fan engagement, DTC, and sports business models to prioritize features and initiatives that maximize business value.
- Partner closely with Business Analysts (BAs), Data Analysts (DAs), and Data Engineers to manage backlog grooming, user stories, and sprint execution.
- Lead the end-to-end data product lifecycle -from requirement gathering, development coordination, and testing, through delivery and performance measurement.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance standards are embedded throughout product design and delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.8+ years of proven experience as a Product Owner or Data Product Manager, preferably focused on data platforms, analytics, or data products.Strong business acumen with deep knowledge of fan engagement, direct-to-consumer (DTC), or sports industry dynamics .Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and analytical requirements into technical deliverables and user stories.Experience partnering with BAs, DAs, and Data Engineers to define and execute data profiling, ETL, and reporting workflows.Solid understanding of data engineering, ETL pipelines, analytics platforms, and data lifecycle management .Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills -able to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks , and compliance standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).Technical familiarity with SQL, ETL tools, and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake) is a strong plus.
