Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Engineering / Maintenance Manager, provides leadership for a functional team within a high-performance environment. Oversees the daily management of the function and drives improvement activities through the development of people and processes. Has overall accountability for the results of the team. Good understanding of procedures and concepts within own technical area and a basic knowledge in other areas. Oversees and supervises Crew Leaders, Electricians, and other skilled employees involved with the maintenance of the plant's building and grounds, processing areas, and packaging lines as needed using Total Productive Maintenance techniques. Other responsibilities may include grounds and building maintenance, facility security, forklift maintenance, storeroom, machine shop and lubrication programs. This position may also be responsible for managing outside contracts for building and grounds maintenance.
Responsibilities
Leading and developing direct reports while fostering a team environment.Meeting or exceeding established goals (Safety, Process Reliability - PR%, cost, waste, quality, sanitation and other performance standards) as they relate to the plant performance. Responsible for performance metrics.Spare parts process leader / owner and storeroom manager. Power user and business process owner for CMMS.Ownership of all facility & equipment maintenance and associated budgets.Operation of maintenance storeroomOperation of wastewater treatment plantSupporting and developing McCormick's High-Performance Organization (HPO) Business Teams to ensure that information flow, personnel development, problem-solving, goal-setting and process improvements are an integral part of the daily activitiesManaging training needs for the PM group to ensure that skill levels are managed and advanced as needed to support plant equipmentResource planning, daily management and implementation of key initiatives including Safety, Effective Maintenance, supporting sustained levels of Autonomous Maintenance and delivery of PR% improvements.Identifying, analyzing, and reducing equipment performance losses and elimination of repetitive loss events.Leading teams to develop cultural and actionable plans to ensure continuous improvement throughout the plantWorking cross-functionally to resolve issuesManaging cost spending / overtime / budget controls and schedulingResponsible for maintaining Food Safety and Defense requirements according to McCormick and Regulatory StandardsRequired Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required5 years of demonstrated maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant3 years of demonstrated experience supervising maintenance employees in a manufacturing plantDemonstrated experience improving Process Reliability (PR%) and / or Overall Equipment EffectivenessDemonstrated experience with a CMMS, SAP or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) toolDemonstrated experience maintaining manufacturing equipmentDemonstrated experience delivering loss reduction in a manufacturing environmentExpert troubleshooter and strong problem solver with demonstrated experience utilizing Root Cause Analysis processesExcellent interpersonal, team leadership, communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently with strong action-oriented focusWillingness and ability to work flexible hours across three shifts as needed to meet business demandsManagement of projects through to successful completionResponsible for maintaining Food Safety and Defense requirements according to McCormick and Regulatory StandardsPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro or another relevant technical field (Mechanical Engineering is ideal)Demonstrated experience in a productive team based / collaborative environmentDemonstrated planning ability and understanding of business decisions based on financial, inventory and customer service indicatorsDemonstrated participative management and leadership skillsExperience in the flavor manufacturing industryExperience managing projects / improvements through successful completion, including contractor managementExperience maintaining processing equipmentTotal Productive Maintenance (TPM) process experience (i.e Progress Maintenance, etc)Food manufacturing experienceSustained demonstrated leadership within a high-performance environmentDemonstrated knowledge of at least one other functional area (outside of current discipline)McCormick & Company is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer. Compensation
Base Salary : $87,910 - $153,870
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and / or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
