- Mechanical Journeymen
- with 6-12 years of experience to join our project in Mt. Vernon, IL. The ideal candidate will possess advanced mechanical skills, the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, and a strong background in pipe fitting and assembly. Welding skills are preferred and considered a significant advantage.
- Key Responsibilities
- Blueprint Interpretation :
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and plans to ensure accurate installation and assembly.
- Pipe Fitting and Assembly :
- Measure, cut, thread, and install pipes according to project specifications.
- Assemble mechanical components with precision and attention to detail.
- Welding (Preferred) :
- Perform welding tasks as needed, following industry standards and safety protocols.
- Tool Use :
- Utilize a variety of tools and equipment to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Quality Assurance :
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements.
- Team Collaboration :
- Work closely with other team members, including apprentices and supervisors, to meet project deadlines.
- Safety Compliance :
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and participation in safety briefings or inspections.
- Qualifications
- Experience :
- 6-12 years of experience in mechanical installations, assembly, or related industrial work.
- Technical Skills :
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and ability to troubleshoot.
- Proficiency in pipe fitting and mechanical assembly.
- Welding experience is preferred but not required.
- Blueprint Reading :
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Tools and Equipment :
- Must possess a complete set of mechanical tools required for the job.
- Familiarity with power tools, measuring devices, and specialized mechanical equipment.
- Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and operate in confined spaces.
- Capable of standing or working on your feet for extended periods.
- Work Environment and Conditions
- Work in an industrial setting with exposure to various weather conditions and site-specific challenges.
- Tasks may involve working at elevated heights, in confined spaces, and around machinery.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends to meet project deadlines.
