Part Time Faculty Interest Pool - Journalism Portland Community College is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon and 19th largest in the nation, serving approximately 80,000 full- and part-time students. PCC has four comprehensive campuses, five workforce training and education centers, and 200 community locations in the Portland metropolitan area.

The Department of Journalism is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area.

Instructor Qualifications Master’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Speech Communication, Mass Communication, or Communications.

OR Master’s degree in a related area (e.g. History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology) and thirty (30) graduate quarter hours in the subject area.

OR Instructors without one of the degrees listed above could be hired on the basis of professional competence : Bachelor’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Communications, or Journalism and two (2) or more years of professional experience working in mass media.
