Candidates must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines and will work closely with our accounting staff to ensure that all paperwork is processed accurately. In addition, our Accounting Clerical team members must possess strong computer skills and prior experiences in accounting work.

La Paz County is looking for a Senior Accounting Clerk to join our Administrative and Fiscal Services team.

The Senior Accounting Clerk plays an essential role in the County's financial operations. This position is responsible for advanced accounting, payroll, and financial record-keeping duties. You'll collaborate with colleagues across departments, provide excellent internal customer service, and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of the County's fiscal systems. You will work independently and collaboratively with a committed team dedicated to excellence in public service.

Key responsibilities include :

• Perform advanced clerical and technical accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation.
• Prepare and process financial reports, journal entries, and account adjustments.
• Verify, audit, and balance financial records in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist departments with questions regarding financial transactions and procedures.
• Support budget preparation and year-end close activities.
• Assist in grant administration
• Maintain accurate records with a high degree of attention to detail and confidentiality.
