Overview
This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and overseeing all design, construction and maintenance activities at the Mackinac Bridge in accordance with the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of the MBA and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
This position is responsible for maintenance and construction activities including painting, structural repairs, snow removal, various inspections, and development of cost-effective programs relating to the Mackinac Bridge. Select, train, guide and coach maintenance staff in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and policies. Identify, implement and foster open communications with the MBA management team, MDOT staff, and maintenance personnel. Monitor, measure, and reduce waste and encourage continuous improvement within the maintenance section. Ensure that periodic performance evaluations for all maintenance personnel are performed. This position requires possession of a valid driver's license to oversee and direct maintenance and construction activities.

Education
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering
Experience
Five years of professional experience equivalent to an Engineer, including three years equivalent to an Engineer P11; two years equivalent to an Engineer 12, Engineer Manager 12, or Engineer Manager-Licensed 12; or, one year equivalent to an Engineer Manager 13, Engineer Manager-Licensed 13, Engineering Specialist 13, or Engineering Specialist-Licensed 13.
