Our Lady of La Salette in Berkley, Michigan is seeking a part-time MusicMinister

  • Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church
  • Degree in Music or equivalent and experience directing a choir
  • Proficiency in piano, organ, singing and conducting.
  • Deep knowledge and familiarity with the Roman Rite of the Catholic Liturgy

Specific Responsibilities :

  • Planning and providing music for one Saturday afternoon Mass (4 : 30 PM) and one Sunday Mass (9 : 30 AM).
  • Directing and developing the parish choir
  • Directing cantors
  • Scheduling substitute organists when necessary
  • Working collaboratively and appropriately with parish priest and / or his delegate
  • Reports to Deacon Dan Darga, Director of Worship
  • Providing and / or organizing the music for funerals and weddings

    • Additional Expectations :

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with volunteer choir members and cantors
  • Computer and organizational skills

    • Compensation within the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Detroit
