Job Summary
The Automation Field Technician – Critical Infrastructure is a key contributor in the construction and startup phase of large-scale mission critical building automation systems.
The Automation Field Technician – Critical Infrastructure will work with design engineers, construction contractors, equipment vendors and client staff to ensure proper operation and acceptance of the automation and software solutions.
Essential Functions
- Startup, Commissioning and Closeout of BAS / EPMS / HVAC Controls Systems (80%)
- Assist PLC programmers and SCADA Engineers with pre-functional, functional, and IST testing of critical BAS . EPMS systems using PLC and SCADA platforms
- Execute troubleshooting of BAS / EPMS equipment, IO, instrumentation and network systems including corrective actions
- Participate in commissioning efforts with external stakeholders
- Analyze system operation, work with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work
- Perform QA / QC of BAS / EPMS and integrated systems using software tools
- Provide installation inspections and other closeout duties to ensure customer acceptance
- Provide markups for shop drawings to document as-built conditions
Reporting and Communication (20%)
Contribute to project reporting including daily site updates, daily site safety reporting and progress reportsDocument and track issues and out of scope effortsCommunicate regularly with subcontractors, project managers, clients and commissioning agents on project progressRequirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or related disciplineOR Two years of experience with hands-on installation, testing, validation and troubleshooting of controls infrastructurePLUS Minimum of five years of additional experience with installation, hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting of controls infrastructure using PLC / SCADA platforms.Benefits
